The Lagan Sessions – They haven’t gone away you know.
I spent some time today taking photographs of a selection of guitars. Some for my own amusement, others as part of a set I’m doing for the next round of Lagan Sessions.
And with instruments like this set in front of me….
I’m still coming to terms with my new camera, so excuse me for not discussing it in great detail just yet.
In the meantime, I spent a little time on Saturday playing with some flashes and a more conventional white background.
Earlier in the year, after another round of painful set-up with improvised boxes and pieces of card and cloth, I decided to buy a simple background stand. I choose this PhotoSel stand since it was cheap and I had the Amazon vouchers. I’m not convinced of the quality of it – a few pieces are very tight when put together and hard to disassemble, but as a little home background set it does the job.
Working alongside a couple of flashguns, it’s possible to light most objects, although I still sturggle to get the background as bright as I’d want. Still it’s fun to learn.
I wasn’t as happy with the treatment of these as I was with the Jaguar shot, but thought they were worth sharing anyway.
I liked the spokes on this. The car was pristine, but the wheels just shone. The keen eyes may notice the reflection is slightly warped – that’s because I cloned out some writing across the centre of the hub.
I’m not sure what type of cars any of these shots came from. If anyone knows, let me know?
I spent today at the zoo. We were lucky that the animals weren’t the only big cats on show.
Liked the lines of this old tractor. It was hard to get a nice shot of it givent he way it was presented in a line with others of similar ages.
Stupidly busy right around now.
